Warranties
All new build properties come with a 10 year NHBC warranty and this gives any new buyer confidence and security in that their new home should be built well, otherwise the developer will have to return to fix and alter issues with the property.
Furthermore, second and third purchasers of the property, if bought within the first 10 years following the first home sale, is also entitled to such warranty security in the form of continuation from the previous owner. Subsequently, the re-sale value of the property remains high and buyer confidence is high as well.
Conversions do not demand the same levels of warranties as it is a UK law for new homes sold in the UK to come with a minimum of 10 years warranty to protect new home buyers.
